Benwell's Work Experience
I completed a two week internship/work experience at the print house Benwell's. Apart from being asked to fetch striped ink, the whole experience was really positive. Understanding the process of printing was so valuable and getting to know what kind of print finishes are more difficult/costly was really useful. I was able to get my hands on a Heidelberg printer and complete the process of printing. This gave me some really inside knowledge into how really high quality stuff is printed.
As a part of the two weeks I designed a printed box for business cards this gave me some really valuable experience in net design and the work was used and printed in house.
In contrast to this I also worked on a lot of admin stuff that really raised my experience it what it takes to run a business and why its so important. I was able to pick up so much printed material that will act as perfect research into the level of quality that is needed in high end printing. I also made some great contacts at Benwell's and they said I could comeback anytime for a further placement if needed which was great. Overall the experience was really enjoyable as well as a really valuable experience for future work.
