Creating a Gif!
I have created my first ever Gif as part of documenting design developments the rebranding studio practice brief, mine being the brand Yo! Sushi, I enjoyed creating an animated version of my designs, I think gifs and moving graphics is an important skill to learn within current graphic design. I would like to use gifs and moving image again in other designs as it gives the work a more enticing format that grabs the eye of the viewer.

Why am I here - What do I want to learn?
I wanted to study on this course because I felt the college had a great reputation and as it was formed in 1846 had lots of history. I was attracted to leeds as its an exciting and up and coming city with lots of great opportunities. Leeds collage of art was somewhere I had only heard good things about and felt there were great opportunities to get into the creative industry. I liked the ides of coming to leeds because of the massive verity of architecture throughout the city.
During my time on this course I would like to, Learn more of the traditional and modern printing techniques like screen printing and letterpress. To learn more about the marriage of graphics and moving image and how they can be used. Look at using adobe muse and how to create app's and application design. I would also love to really push my graphical design and learn much more about design principles implemented by designers of the past.
I think my strengths within graphic design would be firstly my ability to draw and create drawings quickly. Secondly my knowledge of art and design throughout history. Another strength would be my undeviating passion of all areas of art, photography and design. I think my ability to generate appropriate ideas is a big strength for me in terms of graphics. And finally my knowledge of technology and being able to solve technical problems.
I would like to improve upon my critiquing of my work and others and building on this critic. I would like to improve upon my application of design and really pushing my ideas further to created more informed design. I think I need to get better at looking at a wider range of sources of inspiration thus creating more planned design. Another thing I would like to improve would be furthering my experimentation within my designs and seeing how this creates more appropriate designs. And finally I would like to see how I can use my other artistic skills within my design.
I am inspired by architecture Mies Van de Rohe is a fantastic example of great design in quality of materials and in attention to detail. His form of practice and clear modernist style was extremely ahead of its time and influenced and formulated design today. Photography formulates a lot of my inspiration an instagram makes up a large part of the photography I look at @JonasRomo, @Minor-geography and @ELO__are photographers that only mobile photography on their work is minimalistic and abstract style. I have always been a great admirer of art both modern and traditional art is a massive inspiration to me in my work. Artists like Ells Worthkelly and Mark Rothko and there attention to detail and mood when picking colours. I am also inspired greatly by Kawasaki Hokusai and his japanese prints and his graphical style in his work. In terms of design I love japanese poster design and there clean flat graphics with exciting and dynamic colouring. I really like minimal and clean cut graphics and how they use photography and type so simply and still create interesting and exciting results. Another inspiration for me is sculpture the works of Alexander Calder, Charles and Ray Eames and Richard Senna all these sculptures attention to minor detail and how the use shape so effectively but remaining so simplistic.
